The Steve Fish Surfboard, Pool House Project

Known interchangeably as "The Steve Fish" or "Steve The Fish," this board pays homage to Steve Lis, inventor of the swallowtail shape, more commonly known as the "Fish." Built by Lis in 1967 and used by him to surf on his knees, the Fish quickly captured the interest of many surfers who adopted it while standing. From then until today, the Fish has remained an iconic shape, synonymous with the evolution of surfing and, above all, speed. Very few boards can boast such acceleration despite their small size.

For the Steve Fish, we kept the classic shape created by Lis, along with its particularly deep and flared swallowtail. The bottom is flat to end in a vee shape, ensuring easy turn initiation and high speed, while the rails and rocker were designed to increase performance while minimizing friction.

Suggested size: 2 - 4 inches less than your height.
